Total Benefit Communications, LLC was founded in 1993 as an employee benefit communication and education service provider.
In November 2001, Total Benefit Communications received a “no action” letter confirming that the firm is not required
to register as a broker and benefit professionals are not required to be licensed as “registered representatives” to perform their activities
as outlined in the request. While TBC is not required to be a broker, a number of the benefit professionals were formerly registered and now
are working in the industry independently.
In February 2006, TBC was acquired by BISYS, Inc. BISYS was the largest provider of professional benefit education and
TBC was a nice complement to their existing services.
In October 2007, BISYS Retirement Services became Ascensus®. The goal of the name change was to establish a clear brand that
emphasized the company’s extensive industry experience as well as its forward-looking business strategy which continues to evolve the company beyond
its core administrative solutions.
Today, Total Benefit Communications, LLC – An Ascensus® Company is in a period of intense growth. With the renewed focus
and energy being spent on employee education, TBC is well-placed to be a major player in the benefit industry. The qualified professionals who
